Proseal Spray Foam Insulation

Icynene’s portfolio of industry leading light density open and medium-density closed-cell spray foam insulation solutions provide both insulating value and air and moisture barrier performance to help builders, architects, home owners and builders save energy and money.

The attic insulation process of installing spray foam is fast, efficient and neat. The first step is to have a professional remove any existing insulation in the area that will be sprayed. This is done to prevent the new spray foam from touching contaminated surfaces. Once this is done, the professional will then apply a primer to prepare the surface for the spray foam. After the primer has dried, the spray gun will be filled with liquid chemicals, A-Side and B-Side, which are then sprayed onto a surface where they expand into a hard and durable layer of insulation.

The Longevity of Proseal Spray Foam Insulation

When applied properly by a trained and experienced contractor, spray foam insulation can greatly reduce your energy costs year-round, and is far more effective than fiberglass or cellulose. The main reason is that it forms a air seal and stops the single biggest source of heat flow into or out of a home, which is air leakage.

When compared to traditional insulation, spray foam will increase your home’s R-value by as much as 50%. It also significantly cuts down on noise transferring in and out of your home. In addition, it provides a sound dampening effect when used in walls. This is achieved by injecting open or closed cell spray polyurethane foam in between wall studs.
