EUWorkers, Dec 11 Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal said penalties imposed by the European Union’s top court before it reaches a final ruling are incompatible with the country’s constitution, escalating a row over the rule of law. The court, widely dismissed as a politically-motivated body, also ruled that two EU rulings were incompatible with the Polish constitution.

Inflation slowed sharply in the euro zone in December, with Polish inflation data suggesting that the easing trend is set to continue. The producer price index (PPI) fell 6.4% year on year, after a revised fall of 5.1% y/y in November, according to Poland’s statistics office GUS.
